The 12th Pain Relief Foundation Annual Lecture

In Honour of Dr. Edmond Charlton


Professor Robert Dworkin: "Drug Trials & Tribulations: An evidence based approach to clinical trial design"

This is the twelth of an annual series of lectures on timely pain topics, in honour of those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the study and management of pain.

Ed Charlton was a Consultant in Pain Management at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a Past President of the British Pain Society and a founding member of the International Association of Pain.He was widely recognised as a potent force in Pain Medicine. This year a short appreciation of his life and work will be given by Dr Douglas Justins from St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

Robert Dworkin is Director of the Anesthesiology Clinical Research center at the University of Rochester Medical Center, USA. His main research interests include the methodological aspects of analgesic clinical trials and neuropathic pain.

The evening will be chaired by Professor Richard Langford, President of the British Pain Society.

This lecture is free to all but admission will be by ticket only. Registration is requested so that participants can be sent the relevant lecture details (programme, directions to the venue, ticket for admission etc.)
